This drop-in meditation evening is for people in recovery from any sort of addiction or compulsive behaviour (alcohol, food, drugs, shopping, TV, internet, gambling, etc.) . The sessions will be an opportunity to explore Buddhist meditation as a tool to help cultivate sobriety of mind. We start the evening with a period of meditation followed by a tea break. In the second half we will be performing the Sevenfold Puja. The Sevenfold Puja is the main devotional practice for the whole of the Triratna community worldwide. It’s a beautiful compilation of verses from various sources, notably the Bodhicaryavatara by Shantideva. If you have never meditated before it would be useful to arrive twenty minutes ahead of the start time so that someone could give you a brief introduction to the evening’s practice.
